Putin hears details of successful ballistic missile test launch
MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin asked Defense 
Minister Sergei Ivanov to thank the personnel who tested a new combat 
missile system on April 22, after Ivanov provided details of the test launch 
on Monday.

A K65M-R ballistic missile was successfully test launched from Kapustin Yar 
in Astrakhan region on April 22.

Ivanov informed Putin at the president's meeting with the Cabinet, that the 
first test launch of the new missile, to be supplied to the armed forces in 
2008, was a success.

"The test launch inspires the hope and confidence that all of the 
prospective systems to go to the armed forces from the end of 2006 will be 
fitted with these missiles," Deputy Prime Minister Ivanov said.
