[FPSPACE] FW: Magnetic Moondust

Larry Taylor (I think it was) told me that he's found that moondust
microwaves nicely into a solid mass for less energy than it takes to heat up a cup of
tea. So, there are ways to deal with this stuff (on the moon, anyway). I'm
astounded that anyone buys the idea that dealing with moondust must be a major
NASA priority. It's just one of many problems we need to solve if we're to get
along in space, and not the most significant. I suppose that inflating the
menace is a great way to get money (as we've seen a lot lately).

We have quite a dust problem here in the San Francisco Volcano Field, by the
way, especially in times of drought, like right now. Ultrafine cinder grit
that gets into everything, scratches everything. Probably it's doing a job on our
lungs. I should put in a proposal, get some NASA study money. Or maybe just
microwave the yard.
