[FPSPACE] YGCTC

Thanks very much for the detailed guide Rex.

Frustratingly, that seems to put us right back where we started i.e. in the
very low resolution area of Google Earth, where it is impossible to pick
anything out.

Although I can make out 4 lakes - that's it. I cannot see the hydrolab /
centrifuge, let alone the tennis court....

How annoying that the switch from high to low resolution cuts in just before
we get to the interesting bit!

Greetings
>From the Sukhoi fighter you cross the railway line and take the first
turning on the right. After about 300 metres there is a railway station.
This road and the railway line runs parallel to the runway at the big
airfield. You follow the railway line until the road hits a car park and
dead end.

The road is a dead end. It arrives at a car park next to the Tsiolkovsky
station. You then take a left into Star City. The town is to the left and
the training centre to the right with a fairly straight road through the
centre dividing the 2 parts. Aim for the lake which is probably in the
middle dividing the centre and the town. Remember the town is surrounded
entirely by a fence.

You should look for 2 circular buildings the Hydro lab and the centrifuge on
the right. Look for the pedestrian route leading to the House of Cosmonauts
from the Gagarin memorial. There are about 10 tower blocks in the town so
Dom 2 and 4 would not be obvious but the road might be. It is in its own
grounds which are large. There are a couple of smaller lakes one behind the
hydrolab and the other on the other side just outside a second gate.

I am not sure this helps but for the sharp eyed it might.
Rex

Good News : Both co-ordinates given are in the high resolution area.

Bad News : No sign of the circular hydrolab building anywhere, or the two
Cosmonaut Doms, which would be dead giveaways.

Both co-ordinates - especially the latter - are also too built up - Zvezdny
is deep in pine trees.

Do Rex Hall, Bert Vis, Jim Oberg or anyone else who has been there have any
insights please?

Hunt the Training Centre is proving more difficult than anticipated!

We're getting close.
There's a "gate guardian" Sukhoi fighter jet at 55d53m37.9s N, 38d03m14.30s
E which I distinctly remember speeding past on the bus.
