And Hanks has been a real space supporter, plus he was instrumental in getting From Earth to the Moon on TV.
I also think Walter Cronkite should have had a chance to fly in space.

Yes, but Hanks has more time in the vomit comet than any trained astronaut
IIRC the background on when Apollo 13 was filmed, so he kind of 'qualifies'
in his own way.
