I agree. I was already in a continuous battle with some editors of the Czech magazine Letectvi+kosmonautkia (Aviation + Astronautics), when the recalculated values given in non-metric units (e.g. HPs) to the metric ones with unnecerssary "precission". I proposed therefore the following simle rule: "Use only at maximum one more significant digit, than in source value, unless the precision of the original value can be determined in other way". I.e. for 300 lbs do'nt use 136.07769 kg, but round it to 140 kg.
