SpaceShipOne - History or Future?

Paul Allen, asked by one of the 550 journalists attending the SpaceShipOne
event yesterday how he sees this effort dovetailing with his support for
SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, jokingly responded: 

"If they're not going to come here, we'll go there."


Paul Allen donated considerable moolah to get the next phase of The SETI Institute's search going.  They kindly named the Allen Telescope Array (ATA) after him:
