[FPSPACE] Mike Melvill astronaut?

I do not think he qualifies as an astronaut as in getting 433 you do not
count any of the X 15 pilots who some I think flew higher. It is a great
achievement and ranks as a serious milestone in space exploration. Perhaps
it will be seen when people stopped counting. Who was the 434th person to
fly in an aircraft?

astronaut or not? Who decides this 'officially' if anyone? IAF? Guiness book

of records?
