While it is certainly possible to design a much better Soyuz interior, the
key issue is cost. The Russians have chosen to not replace the Soyuz and
they probably chose this route because it would cost money. So spending
significant cash to make a "Soyuz glass cockpit" seems unlikely.
On another note--I wonder if there is a height requirement for being a
contestant on "Destination Mir"?
