Good Afternoon.
While editing the History of Mir book for the BIS I was remembering the =
annual reviews of Soviet Space Activities produced by Nick Johnson when =
he was at Teledyne Brown. He had to stop when he went to work for NASA.I =
realised how much I missed them.I was discussing this with Phil Clark =
who as you all know is one of the West's foremost experts on Russian =
space exploration. He offered to write one for this year if there was =
enough interest.Phil would have to charge.A lot depends on how much work =
is involved and the interest.I am posting this to gauge thoughts from =
the group.Rather than clog the group please post replies to me or Phil.

On a separate matter I was writing a letter to Jim Oberg and I was =
marking the death of Gherkin Titov and earlier this year of another =
member of the Gagarin group Mars Rafikov.I think it was only in 1986 =
that we knew of his identity.Jim in his great articles in Spaceflight in =
the early 70s which formed a group which looked at the make up of the =
Soviet Cosmonaut team for almost 2 decades.
I hope those of you who are new to this type of analysis have realised =
the debt we owe to those who did so much to unravel the mysteries of =
Soviet space programmes.

Have a good day.

Rex
