MirCorp supposedly had a board meeting on the company's future yesterday
(Thursday).  But they have not updated their website since mid-November
(so much for their vaunted "internet-portal" idea).

It is worth noting that a number of financial things were supposed to
happen to MirCorp by early December and these have apparently not
happened.

1-Tito's last payment was supposed to be made to MirCorp
2-Anderson and Kathuria were supposed to supply an additional $10-12
million to MirCorp
3-MirCorp was supposed to reimburse the Russians for October Progress
launch (in fact, MirCorp has owed the Russians money apparently since
September)

Now why hasn't any of this happened?

#1-We have since learned that Tito's payments were actually payments to an
escrow account that Energia cannot touch until he lifts off the
pad.  These payments may have happened on December 1, as planned, but we
don't know, and even if they had, the Russians cannot touch them.

#2-My guess is that Anderson and Kathuria are keeping their money in the
bank until they know what is going to happen with Mir's planned
de-orbiting.

#3-MirCorp is broke, so they are not paying anybody.


I saw Rick Tumlinson speak up on Capitol Hill on Thursday.  He's still
awfully enthusiastic.  Nobody there was impolitic enought to point out
that his idea MirCorp has been a colossal flop.
