Sadly it seems that the corpse is still kicking occasionally.
Marshall Kaplan who originally ran the publication was fraudulently
commissioning work which he used, even though he had no itentions of
paying the fees which were agreed. Then it seems that the original
publishing company which he ran went bankrupt and the title was bought by
Phillips publishing.
A few months ago apparently Phillips sold the publication back to Kaplan
for a grossly-inflated fee of $1, with Kaplan having set up a new
publishing arrangement.
If Jim Oberg is writing for the new Kaplan version then I hope that he has
some way of getting paid for what he does. Kaplan still owes me over
$1,600 for the material which he got commissioned from me through to
early next year and he laughs at the idea that he should consider settling
the debt.
