Space.com/Gannett Contract Finalized: 
Florida Today's Space Online to Shut Down Soon.

"We received word tonight that the contract under which Gannett Co. 
Inc. - the parent corporation of Florida Today - will become an 
investor in Space.com, and under which Space.com will purchase 
the rights to Space Online and other Gannett space-related properties 
was finalized today ..... We will continue to cover space on the Web 
but Space Online will be no more once everyone has their ducks in a 
row, which we expect to happen soon, and our partnership with 
Space.com is finalized. 

Editor's note: I am rather sad to see this happen. I have thoroughly 
enjoyed the people - and the space coverage - at Florida Today's 
Space Online. Indeed, they were the first to take online space news 
coverage seriously and set the standards for others to meet. I wish 
them all well.
