Introduction

Welcome to the United States On-Line Project. This project is intended to
be a reference source for students who are interested in learning and
understanding the events and ideas which have helped shape the United States.

This server is part of the Friends and Partners server currently being
constructed by Greg Cole at the University of Tennesee at Knoxville. I would
publically like to thank Mr. Cole for the opertunity to assist this project
and to have the opertunity to provide this server.

Historical interpretations are really only opinions of what "really happened."
And what "really happened" largely is determined by who you are and what
your motivations are. One only has to look at the the recent controvercies
surounding the 500th Aniversery of Christopher Columbus "discovering"
America and the United States desition to drop the Atomic Bomb on Japan to
find that there are always, at least, two sides to a story. Therefore, please
remember that much of what you will find here is my own interpretation of
what happened and in no way is the represents the opinions and/or position
of the University of Tennesee, who owns the computers that this is located on,
the University at Albany, State University of New York- where I am a
graduate student, or anyone elses. In sections which I have written the
interpretations are mine and mine alone.

Please keep in mind that while sections of this server are up and running most
of them are in draft form. They will be corrected as time permits. Please
also remember when you read these pages that I am not a computer science
person and that my biggest challange so far is trying to get a spell check
program to work.
