RIGA, Nov. 29 (LETA) - A criminal ring, whose members had been recruiting
young women in Latvia for supposed employment in U.S. night clubs, is
standing trial in Chicago today.
In fact, these women were forced to work as prostitutes, LETA was informed
by t he U.S. FBI Legal Attache in Tallinn, Bill Mochella.
There are many Russians involved in criminal groups in Chicago, and it
could be that some are from Latvia, said Mochella in illustrating how
organized crime t ravels the globe.
