december 8-11, the metropolis project is holding a conference in DC. one
topic will be: trafficking in women: balancing human rights and criminal
justice issues.

description of the panel: how is trafficking defined? how is trafficking
practised? what are the current legal and human rights responses to
trafficking? what policies and legislation exist and/or are needed to
maintain the human rights of women who are trafficked but who act as
witnesses in the prosecution of traffickers? using experiences from various
countries, participants willdiscuss options for developing policy frameworks
that balance human rights and criminal justice responses to the trafficking
of women.
