one thing discussed recently was the Roumanian government's efforts to
prevent trafficking of women out of the country by depriving women leaving
the country independently of their passports. I like to think this could
harken back to the point about decriminalizing migration, rather than
making it more difficult for determined women and others to migrate,
forcing them with well-intentioned but knuckleheaded policies into
positions where trafficking is a necessity for migration.
