Romanian Migrant Teen Sex worker killed in Istanbul
20.05.1998, Marilena-Simona Stan, aged 17 from the city of Buzau, Romania
was found strangled in a Hotel room in Istanbul, Turkey. Her corpse remains
in the city morgue as her family in Romania have no means to repatriate the
body.
Marilena had been active in migratory sex work for at least two years, and
had been in regular contact with our out-reach worker until a few months
ago.
It has been presumed that she was killed by a client with whom she had
spent the night in the hotel room. No arrest has been made.
