We are very interested to have Russian speaking translators assist us by translating one or more of our web pages into Russian. This will be a great service to the russian population reading our web-page. if oyu are willing to help us.
1. Type the url of the web-page you wish to translate in the "Location" box of netscape (or other browser you are using)
2. When to url is loaded use "file" and "save" to save the file to your hard disk in whatever directory suits you.
3. next open "file' and "open file in editors
4. next type in your translation of the file. To do this you must have koi-8 (Unix) and/or CP1251 (windows) cryillic fonts installed on your computer.
You may type the translation either (a) before the English text (b) after the English text, or (c) insrt the Russian trnaslation after each paragraph of the English text. We prefer variant (c).
5. The save the file as an .html file
6. The send us an e-mail message to russia@aa.net and attached the html file as an attachment.
We thank you very much for your assistance. When we get the file we will 'publish' it to our web pages. You are invited to add in the file your name and email address and indicate "Translated By:" This informaiton will be published on your web pages. You may add an email address if you wish.
TRANSLATION OF BOOKS
Palms and compay has donated to the people of Russia a library of 1000 of the greatest books in the World. This is an electronic library and the books are available free to anyone in Russia who has a computer. The books may be downloaded by ftp. We are looking for volunteers who are interestd to adop one book and share it with the Russian people by translating it into Russian.
You can send your translated book (1) by mail on a floppy disk to Palms & Company, Inc. 515 Lake Street South #103, Kirkland, State of Washington, United States of America, 98033 or, (2) by email to russia@aa.net.
Please inclde yur name and country and email if you wish and we will place a notice on our web site that you are the translator of the book.

This is only available on the Russian language side of their system, but is pretty easy to see. Click on the WINDOWS icon at the bottom of the main menu. Then, on the lower left selection [the web names will pop up in English] which is /books. The first one of that list, The Palms Russian Public Library, is Project Gutenberg Etexts in .zip format as mirrored from uiarchive.
