First attempted launch of Cosmos 63S1 small launch vehicle.


21 December 1961 DS-1 s/n 2 Program: DS. Launch Site: Kapustin Yar . Launch Vehicle: Kosmos 63S1. FAILURE: Second stage failed 354 seconds after launch. Mass: 300 kg.

Second attempted launch of Cosmos 63S1 small launch vehicle.


01 October 1963 Kosmos scientific satellites authorised. Launch Vehicle: Kosmos 11K63.
