NARIKALA FORTRESS
Narikala
fortress was built at the end of 3th century. The founder of Tbilisi, king
of Georgia Vakhtang Gorgasali strengthened its walls and towers in 5th
century. By that Narikala has become the main fortificational building
of medieval Tbilisi. It has destryed many times by enemies during 1500
year. Especially, by Arabs (7-10th centuries), Turks (16th century), Mongols
(13th century) and Persians (17-18th centuries). Nowdays Narikala is retorated
and dominates over the capital of Georgia Tbilisi.
