PITARETY CHURCH
Pitarety
church was built in 1213-1222 in the reign of georgian king Lasha-Giorgi.
It is situated far from the inhabited places. This cathedral is one of
the best examples of the georgian architecture of this period. Pitarety
is decorated with a great number of masterly curved stone ornament. There
are frescoes of various periods i the interior. Nowadays they are being
restored and preserved.
