BAGRATI CATHEDRAL

It is situated in Kutaisi and is an important monument of the medieval georgian art. The name of the cathedral is connected with the king of Georgia Bagrat I I I, who was the donator of this church. The Dormition cathedral was built in 1001-1008. The inner space was ornamented with mosaic. In 1691 it was blowed up by the Turks.
