Geneza was conceived as an "information and analytical research and educational institution formed in order to study changes in political space in the post-communist world, specifically, in Ukraine." Besides its headquarters in Lviv, it has a branch in Lugansk.
Geneza has 15 professional staff, most of them between 25 and 35 years old, who conduct and publish research on behalf of governmental institutions, political parties and movements, periodicals, businesses, and other institutions. It collaborates with Lviv Uni-versity, Ukrainian research institutions and the mass media. The center maintains continuous relations with similar institutions in the U.S., Germany, Austria, Poland, Russia and other countries. It is a corresponding member of the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia.
