ELSA was founded in 1981 in Vienna, Austria, and today comprises 25,000 students from 180 university-based local groups, spanning 41 countries. ELSA–Lviv is the only member of the association in Ukraine. It conducts seminars and conferences for law students to broaden their knowledge of European and international law and runs a Student Trainee Exchange Program for law students to study and live abroad.
