Unused land plots to be privatized

The Mayor's Office announced that it is planning to sell unused plots in a continuation to the city's highly successful land privatization program.

Mikhail Manevich, head of the city property committee, said regulations for such sales through auctions and tenders is ready and will be signed into law soon.

St Petersburg was the first city in Russia to allow privatized enterprises to purchase the land they occupied. The program was implemented last May. (SPP)
