  • FISH FABRIQUE: Contemporary rock and pop music. Open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 7pm-midnight; Friday and Saturday, 9pm-5:30am. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 5,000 R; Friday and Saturday, 10,000 R. 10 Pushkinskaya Ulitsa, Apt. 15 (4th floor). Metro Ploshchad Vosstaniya. On exiting, turn left, cross Nevsky Prospect. Pushkinskaya is the first street on your right. No sign, but look for the New Academy of Fine Arts sign outside.

  • GORA CLUB: Live rock concerts. Open Wednesday-Sunday, 7pm-midnight. 10,000 R. 153 Ligovsky Prospect. One tram stop from the Ligovsky Prospect Metro. The club located on the corner of Obvodnovo Canala Naberezhnaya (Embankment) and Ligovsky Prospect, in the former Sever cinema. Enter from the embankment.

  • JAZZ PHILHARMONIC HALL: Traditional, mainstream and modern jazz. Open Tuesday-Sunday, 8pm-11pm. 30,000 R (foreigners), 20,000 R (Russians). Tickets sold in advance at the box office, 2pm-8pm. 27 Zagorodny Prospect. Metro Dostoyevskaya. Turn right, walk ten minutes down Zagorodny or take any trolley bus, two stops. Tel: 164-8565. November 27-30: closed.

  • KVADRAT JAZZ CLUB: Traditional and mainstream jazz. Open Tuesday, 8pm-11pm. 5,000 R. 10 Pravdy Ulitsa. Metro Vladimirskaya. On exiting, turn left, follow Bolshaya Moskovskaya (turns into Pravdy Ulitsa), five minute walk. Concerts are held in the foyer.

  • MONEY HONEY SALOON: Live rockabilly concerts. Open daily, 7:30pm-10pm. 10,000 -15,000 R. Apraksin Dvor, Building 14. Metro Gostiny Dvor (exit on Sadovaya Ulitsa). Club located in the yard of the Apraksin Dvor department store. Go through the main archway in the middle of the store -- club is in the first building on your right. Tel: 310-0147.

  • NORA CLUB: Raves, "unplugged" rock concerts. Open Monday, Thursday-Sunday, 9pm-6am; Saturday, 9pm-noon. Invitations and club cards only. 153 Ligovsky Prospect. One tram stop from the Ligovsky Prospect Metro. The club located on the corner of Obvodnovo Canala Naberezhnaya (Embankment) and Ligovsky Prospect, in the same building as the Gora Club. Enter from the corner.

  • ROTTERDAM CLUB: Dance, reggae, rock and roll. Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 7pm-2am. Tuesday and Wednesday, 5,000 R; Friday and Saturday, 10,000 R (men), 5,000 (women). 69 Veteranov Prospect. Metro Prospect Veteranov. Cross Veteranov Prospect and take any bus or trolley bus, two stops south. The club located in the same building as large food store, second floor.

  • TaMtAm CLUB: Hardcore rock'n'roll and jazz. Live music only. Open Thursday-Saturday, 8pm-11pm. 10,000 R. 49 Maly Prospect (Vasilevsky Ostrov). Metro Vasileostrovskaya. Turn left on exiting the metro, at the first intersection turn right, and go one block. Cross the street, turn left and take any trolley bus two stops, or walk about ten minutes. Club is on the corner of Maly Prospect and the 16th Liniya, in the four-floor building. No sign, but the entrance is right on the corner.

  • VEGA'S LIVE: Rock concerts, raves. Open Friday-Sunday, 6pm-midnight. 10,000 R. 32 Kommuny Ulitsa. Metro Ladozhskaya. Take bus #77, the "Ulitsa Kommuny" stop.

  • WILD SIDE: Rock and pop live shows, all-night disco. Open Friday and Saturday, 10pm-5:30am; Sunday, 7pm-11pm. Friday, 30,000 R (men), 15,000 R (women), 20,000 R (students); Saturday, 30,000 R, 20,000 R (students); Sunday, 10,000 R. 12 Bumazhnovo Canala Naberezhnaya. Metro Narvskaya. Turn right on exiting, take the third street on the right. Go to the bridge, but turn right just before you cross it. Walk along the embankment (two minutes), club located in a low buiding to the left of the archway. No sign, but look for parking spaces in front of the building (listen for music). Tel: 186-3466.
