Buying tickets

Moscow and Trans-Siberian train tickets can be purchased through the train ticket office on the Canal Griboyedova. It is best to go to the Intourist Office on the second floor.

The two-tier pricing system used on Russian trains applies on Trans-Siberian tickets also.

Be aware that the ticket prices do not include accommodation, either in Russia or China, or food. Moreover, a ticket is no use without a reservation on the train.

Buying tickets can be done alone, but for someone with little knowledge of Russia or Russian, package deals from travel agents may be a better deal.
