A systematic training of the children of six age who began to learn a foreign language from the first grade was the main experiment in Pushchino experimental elementary through secondary school for the first twelve years.
At the same time this experiment has been carried out in some grades (control grades) of Pushchino elementary through secondary school where the children of seven age began to learn a foreign language.
For all twelve years the children from both schools have been under careful and systematic control of highly skilled teachers and scientists from the Research Institute of the essence and methods of training, the Research Institute of child and teenager's physiology, the laboratory of trace processes of the Department of Memory Problem of the Institute of Biological Physics, USSR Academy of Sciences. The experimental studies have been carried out on this basis.
During the experiment various types of the school curriculum, time-tables, methods of training , text-books and educational supplies have been used. A comparative analysis of the results of training of the children of six and seven age has been constantly carried out and the parents have been questioned.
As a result of experimental search the optimum school curriculum and the best result time-table have been developed. It has been ascertained that a lesson duration of thirty five minutes in the elementary school with a long break between third and fourth lessons makes it possible to learn school material without exhaustion and the study of the elementary school material is quite within the powers of six-aged children and keeps within three years. 60-65% of the pupils finish the elementary school with the highest mark, four and five out of five. The results showed that mental and physical abilities of the pupils in Pushchino experimental elementary through secondary school, in the control grades of Pushchino elementary through secondary school and in a number of Moscow school actually developed identically.
This important conclusion made it possible to most schools of the Russian Federation to begin the transfer to the training using state-of-the-art methods. At the present all children enter our school at the age of six studying five days a week and having a changed schedule of holidays (five times around the school year). In the upper forms of the secondary school the educational program was so enriched that led to exhaustion of the pupils. To normalize training process there appears an additional school year in the secondary school. A twelve year experiment with different pupils and teachers has stood the test of time and can be recommended to be used in another schools.
The life showed that we should not wait for a recipe from the Academy of Pedadogical Science for all cases: to successfully develop training process it is necessary to develop own educational supplies, customs and own school model. Pedagogical staff of Pushchino experimental elementary through secondary school carries out psychologo-pedadogical practicals for teachers, provides the work of the pedagogical council, develops instructions how to organize the study of schoolchildren, the work of teachers, improves methods of training, carefully studies the personality of every child. This school is characterized by modifying management system, by distinct structure of prospective and current planning, by the development of interesting and useful forms and methods of work with the children and their parents, etc..
Now a teacher staff gives a great attention to the child's personality and at the same time improves bringing-up social consciousness in children. International, patriotic and ecological works are strenghtening.
Pushchino experimental elementary through secondary school and Pushchino Medical Center developed and began to accomplish their conception "The health of a teenager".
Mutually useful relations have been established with Pushchino State University.
Our school takes an active part in realization of a joint Russian-U.S. project "Global thinking", is involved into interregional UNESCO project of the relationship between energy and the environment "A role of educational systems".
