In one of the lovely places of Moscow surroundings, facing Prioksko-Terrasny State Biosphere Preserve, on the high hill of the right Oka river bank there is located a small town of Pushchino. Its history has been developing so rapidly and non-repeatedly that it can be undoubtedly called as an amazing town. The children make up one third of the population.

The town is the home of Pushchino Biological Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Recently Pushchino State University has begun operating where the students are being trained mostly in the field of biology. There are three elementary through secondary schools, one of which is Pushchino experimental elementary through secondary school of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This school has been organized in 1970 by joint resolution of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the Council of Directors of Pushchino Biological Research Center and the Presidium of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences under the guidance of Research Institute of the essence and methods of training of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences. Dr. M.P.Kashin, Associate, USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences (from the professors), Dr. M.V.Antropova, Associate, USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences (from the hyginiests) and Dr. L.G.Voronin, Associate, USSR Academy of Sciences and USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences (from the physiologists) headed the experiment in our school.

Tatiana Petrovna Slavgorodskaya, Candidate in pedagogics, was - 2 - the first director of the school. Valerii Borisovich Friderix, an honoured teacher of the school of the Russian Federation headed the school staff from 1977 to 1994. At the moment Valentina Alexandrovna Zalim, a teacher, a speacialist in educational methods, a holder of the Order of the Badge of Honour is the director of the school.

Financial situation of Pushchino experimental elementary and secondary school allows to carry out the experiments, train pupils, fulfil educational, working, sport, social activity of the children. In the school there are 30 class-rooms, recreation rooms, bedrooms, a canteen, computer room, broadcast room, workshops. Two gymnasia, a room for aerobics, a stadium, a swimming pool are available in the school. There are two assembly halls, a good library and a school museum. There is a piece of land with the greenhouse, motor transport.
