Salyut 2 Space Station
The Salyut 2 station was the first Almaz type station produced
by the Chelomei design bureau. It was launched on April 3, 1973.
Approximately one week into the mission, the Salyut 2 developed a
severe tumbling problem and broke up into twenty-five trackable
pieces which entered the atmosphere roughly two months
after the launch.
