The Universal Cyrillic Converter has moved to a new place:
http://www.friends-partners.org/~isandler/cyrconv/cyrconv.html
Please update your links and bookmarks ASAP.
Some links may not be working yet. If you find any broken/nonworking links,
please let me know and I'll fix them as time permits.
Jun.12,97
I removed the "Select a document" menu....
It was rarely used and had only 2 documents in it
1) "Za Nauku", which you may still read from
INFOMAG
in any encoding:
KOI8 |
Win |
DOS |
Mac |
Translit
2) The last issue of
ITAR TASS in different encodings:
KOI8 |
Win |
Mac |
DOS |
Translit
(warning: the convertion is done by my converter, so
if they again change their server's configuration, the
links above won't work)
Jan.28,97
Important: The CGI script serving
Universal Cyrillic Converter has moved. The old script
disappeared on Jan.28,1997. If you have any links/
bookmarks pointing to converted documents, you will need
to update them -- just replace "user=ilya" by "user=isandler"
in the links/bookmarks...Sorry, for inconvenience...
Jan. 14,97. I fixed (a kind of) "charset= " handling
Nov.28,96 I added convertion from transliteration
Aug. 26,96 I installed a new version of converter.
New features include:
- now Converter can convert files on your local file
system! (you need a browser supporting file upload,
Netscape 2.0 and higher do support it, I don't know
about other browsers, all other features should
still work with any browser...)
- now converter can work with "frames" and
I added ITAR TASS newspaper to "select a document"
menu. Check it out! (note: ITAR TASS server is sometimes
down, they also have a habit of changing their URLs,
so if you get an error message, try later..., if
the message persists, please let me know!)
- the problem with <pre> tags in converted
documents is finally fixed and "Text/html" option is
not needed anymore and was removed...
- several tiny bugs fixed
Feb.3,96 I added several new features to the converter.
- A couple of documents available through "Select a
Document" menu, eventually, I will add more (maybe).
NOTE: if you use "Select a Document" menu, your
choise in "From" menu will be ignored!
- interface to Gopher directories
- a couple of options to change the behaviour of
the Converter, see FAQ for details
- http:// is now the protocol by default
Dec.12,95 I updated the converter. Now it will
automatically make conversion for all local
links in downloaded documents. I hope, this will be
useful for the most users. Please, let me know, if the
converter breaks any links (in this case I will also
need the URL of the document, where it happens).
Also I fixed the bug which sometimes caused the converter
to produce empty documents, let me know if you again
encounter blank pages.
On Nov.15,95 the first version of Converter went online...
