PROGRAM: These awards are intended to improve the academic employment and tenure opportunities of new Ph.D.s in any discipline of the social sciences and humanities in the study of the Soviet Union and its successor states. Fellowships are available to provide three years of summer support plus one semester free of teaching for scholars.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applications will be accepted from U.S. citizens who have defended their dissertations by September 1, 1994, and who are untenured.
