PROGRAM: Grants are offered in the social sciences and humanities to support research by scholars who do not yet hold tenured teaching appointments. The research grants provide recipients with three years of summer support plus one semester free of teaching. Depending on the nature of the proposed research, it may be carried out in the United States and/or in other countries. Dissertations of applicants must have been approved by their department by September 1 of the initial support year. Further information and application forms are available upon request.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be U.S. citizens in their first 3 years of an academic appointment.
