PROGRAM: The premise of this program is that there is a continuing need for specialists in independent institutions that can provide authoritative analyses of important international issues for both policymakers and the public at large. To help meet this need, grants are made in the United States and abroad for research, training, the development of networks of analysts, and public information on seven topics: international economics and development; peace, security, and arms control; international refugees and migration; US foreign policy; international relations, particularly in developing countries; international organizations and law; and foreign- area studies primarily relating to the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. Applications are accepted at any time.
