The 1st International Conference - Exhibition - Fair "Education-94" 
(Technical Progress and Pedagogical Technologies) will be held in Moscow, 
Russia for three days from Tuesday, July 5 through Thursday, July 7, 1994.

Organizers:     Russian State Committee for Higher Education
                Moscow State Pedagogical University
                Research and Development Center SCAN
Under the support of:
                Russian Ministry of Education
                Russian Academy of Education.

The main goals: creation of the information market for educational 
technologies, sharing of experiences on the problems of modern higher and 
secondary education and future systems of education.

Conference: reports at plenary and section meetings on the latest 
technologies in education, subject courses.

Exhibition: demonstration of unique elaborations and equipment for 
educational market.

Fair: dissemination of educational products and mass media publications.

Over 200 Russian and Foreign higher educational institutions, laboratories 
and centers working in the sphere of creating new information technologies 
and producing educational equipment are expected to participate. 
Representatives of state and private, genral and specialized educational 
institutions, educational authorities of different regions of Russia, 
former Soviet republics and foreign countries are invited. The 
Conference-Exhibition- Fair will be given extensive media coverage.

"Education-94" will take place in the new building of the Moscow 
Pedagogical State University. Address: 88 Prospect Vernadskogo, Metro 
Station Yugo-Zapadnaya.

Registration: July 4, from 12 a.m. till 8 p.m.; July 5, from 9 a.m. till 
12 a.m.

"Education-94" schedule:

July 4, Monday:         12 a.m. -  8 p.m.       -  arrival of participants.
July 5, Tuesday:                10 a.m. -  11 a.m.      -  opening of 
"Education-94".
                        11 a.m. -  1 p.m.       -  plenary reports and 
presentations.
                        2 p.m.   -  6 p.m.              -  plenary reports 
and presentations.
July 6, Wednesday:      10 a.m. -  6 p.m.       -  section  meetings, 
presentations
                                                           and subject 
courses
July 7, Thursday:       10 a.m. -  5 p.m.       -  section meetings, 
subject courses.
                                5 p.m.   -  6 p.m.              -  closing 
of "Education-94".
July 8, Friday:                                            departure of 
participants.

The programme of plenary and section  reports  and  subject  courses will 
include presentations by leading specialists on the most important issues 
of information technologies in education.


The Exhibition and the Fair will be open from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. on July 
5, 6 and 7.

The main subject areas:
- exchange of advanced technologies and experience in the use of modern 
information and technical means
  (computers, audio and  visual equipment, multimedia, telecommunications 
and so on) in higher educational
  institutions and schools;
- implementation of new technologies in education in the form of curricula 
and courses, video and computer
  programs, instruments;
- discussion of the latest scientific and technical  achievements and 
information technologies in education.
- displaying new educational publications.

Upon registration you will receive an invitation card, a detailed 
programme and the Catalogue "Education-94".

The official languages of "Education-94" are Russian and English.

During "Education 94" the following courses will be made available:
- courses on particular subjects;
- school for licensing, evaluation and accreditation of educational 
institutions.

Accommodation: tourist and business class hotels ($20-40 and $40-60 per 
day). Meals will be provided by the University cafeteria and bars. 
(Accommodation, meals, transportation costs are not included in the 
registration fee. )
