<h1>Progress in Feasibility Study of BTCF</h1>
    On June 28, the leaders of the institute listened to the progress reports 
on R&D status of BTCF  (Beijing Tau- Charm Fectory) detectors. Recently, 
some results are obtained in 
 many experiments  in  building  module detectors and in selecting 
gases and field wires. Through simulation calculations, 
particle identification of BTCF detector has been studied, especially the 
identification of muons and the so-called fake photons. With Monte Carlo 
method, some meaningful results on tau neutrino mass, glueball and charmonium 
are made.<p>
    On July 2, the researchers also made their working reports on the 
progresses in BTCF accelerator studies.<p>
    In early November this year, an evaluation meeting on BTCF project will 
be held in Beijing. The BTCF Leading Group will make the full use of the 
coming four-month time for preparing a formal  Feasibility Research Report.<p>
