The Samarkand Lyceum at the Institute of Foreign Languages is looking for a
few good high school teachers from the US to teach math and sciences in

90's the first Uzbek ambassador to Russia. Not to mention, the city of
Samarkand is stunningnly beautiful, green, near the mountains, steeped in
culture, history, and friendly people.

I am a married American man with a beloved wife that I brought over from

I would appreciate intelligent E-mail from Russian people, preferably those
living in the Moscow area. It would be great to exchange information and

Subject: the road to tobolsk
Friends and partners,
Hello! This is Tom, the American who, with his wife Isabel, went to Tobolsk,
Siberia, in December to adopt a 10-month-old boy. That was my first time in
cold weather as I live in sunny Tampa, Florida. Of course, 'sunny' means hot
in the summertime, but our winters are beautiful. I have never seen the
northern United States in the cold months.
I'd like to hear from you. I'm interested specifically in Moscow, Tyumen, and
Tobolsk, since they are the cities I visited on my trip. But I would love to
hear from anyone who lives in or has traveled to Russia. My favorite topics
are literature, and issues in race, gender and class.
My vacation this year will be a small. Last year, my wife and I went to
Boston, Maine, and Cape Cod in that order. Great, but we are still recovering
financially from our trip to Russia. Isabel, Damir and I will go near Fort
Myers, Florida, to Captiva Island and the beach known for its sea shells.
Regards,
Tom
