Subject: Top Ten
The growth of Russia-related sites in the past 12 months
is staggering, such that even the sites cataloging sites
are mind-boggling in their size.
In an effort to highlight some of the best sites on-line
in the Russia area, Russian Life magazine, at its web site
http://www.friends-partners.org/rispubs/rltop10.html
has inaugurated a Top Ten listing of what our editors have
-- so far -- found to be the best Russia-related sites on the net.
Please take a look, compare notes, offer bones of contention,
and/or submit us your URLs. We see this as a community effort
to highlight work well done, i.e. the most content-rich and
attractively designed pages on line.

Subject: Seeking partners and volonteers
Dear Sirs,
We would like to draw your att=89ntion to the programme "Passage Zebra".
The main aims of this programme are to bring together young people of
different nationalities, to further the intagration and mutural
enrichment of our cultures, and to attract the attention of young
Europians and Americans to the problems of contemporary Russia.
Our programme is worked out in accordance with the main principles of
the "Workcamps" movernment. It foresees not only the organisation of
"Workcamps" in the Central Black Earth region, but also the involvment
of young Russiansin the camps arranged by our partership organisations
in Europe. We work in the field of archeology, ecology, restoration of
architectural monuments and though the spectrum of our activity is
rather varied, we are paying special attention to the organisation of
children's camps.
We suggest holding these children's camps during the summer 1996.
1. 02.06.96-20.06.96
2. 23.06.96-14.07.96
3. 17.07.96-14.08.96
4. 15.08.96-30.08.96
The volunteers will be working with Russian children aged 10 to 15
years old in our summer camps. The group will consist of about 40
children in all. We have worked out a programme of activities on the
basis of an international cultural, exchange of music, traditions and
customs, clothes, national holidays and dishes. We nevertheless remain
open to volunteers own ideas. During the camp there will be excursions
around the town of Voronezh and the region. Voronezh is a town of
about 1,000,000 inhabitants and is known as the cradle of the Russian
fleet since Peter the Great built it here. The 300th anniversary of
this occasion is this year and there will be celebrations ! Voronezh
is also renowned for its university, theatres and many museums. There
will be 10-15 volunteers of different nationalities of which 5 will be
Russians already working for our organisation. The methology , "Slavs"
programme, has been approved but it is the first time that the camps
to be held from the participants of different countries.
We hope that you will be interested in our project and wait you halp
in seeking partners in USA and Europe and volonteers for this camps.
Our E-mail: kl@kea.voronezh.su
We appriciate you halp and belive that our cooperation will help to
futher strengthen understanding and friendship between our countries.
Programme coordinater Konstantin Lepiohin.

every wire in the cord. If you could to look through some book and to drop m=

Subject: surgical instrumentation
Needing to make contact with persons in Ukraine who are responsible for
supplying surgical instruments to hospital, clinics, operating room suites.
Non-profit group has technology for biotechnicians to remanufacture to like
new condition (we're talking metzenbaums with tungsten-carbide inserts,
needle drivers, vascular clamps, anything metal, endoscopic lense systems.)
Can be done on site; would like to _teach_ this technology to others. Need
about two weeks, minimum. We also have access to interesting range of
salvageable equipment; in case you're skeptical and want to see how it's
done, we can bring the instruments, use them for teaching and leave them
with you.
Russian language is not a problem (this is not rocket science and we have a
representative in Ukraine, anyway.)
The firm doing the teaching is Progressive Service Concepts of Lubbock, Texa=
s.
The Ukrainian end of this non-profit is Sergei Lukovenkov, MD
((ssl@chaap.kherson.ua))
and I am the resident agent of Stairway To Recovery, Inc., a Texas
non-profit corporation.
Sincerely,
Marshall Paul
