Subject: RUSSIAN MEDIA IN LATVIA NOW ON THE WWW

Dear Friends and Partners:

We would like to express our deep appreciation to everybody offered help to
us. Really good news for all of us is that the new URL has appeared.
You are welcome to visit us at

     http://solar.rtd.utk.edu/friends/valery/russnews.html

where you can find our digests "Russian Media In Latvia".

Our first issue has appeared on March 18 and the second one has
appeared on March 27, 1996. Our topics you can find at conferences
     relcom.talk, relcom.politics and relcom.sci.libraries.

"Russian Media In Latvia" is the first part of a wide project dedicated to
the Russian life in Latvia and to relationships between parts of the Russian
Diaspora in different countries. We plan to establish Russian public and
cultural organizations, "electronic" exhibitions and libraries, and so on.

All kind of help will be greatly appreciated.
Please address your ideas and/or critics to Mr. Valery Gerasimov
(irga@irga.vernet.lv). Currently, a permanent sponsorship would be very
helpful for organization of the public information center in Latvia.

Hello

I have a friend Andrey Yakimov who is trying to locate his lost family in
Russia. His father came to US in 1914, and the last they heard from the
family in Russia was in the early 1940's. They were from a village about
20 km from Kiev. I can get more information from his as he is going
through old family papers to try to help me with the search. Is there
some government bureau or agency that might help with this search.

Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: experienced and enthusiastic student seeking summer job/internship

I am a junior at Swarthmore College pursuing a double major in Economics and
Computer Science, and I am looking for a summer job or internship in the
Former Soviet Union with a business or a non-profit organization. I would also
be interested to participate in a project that concerns the FSU, but takes
place in any other country.

I am originally from Ukraine, and have been living in the U.S. for the past
four years. I am fluent in English and Russian. Outside of my solid and
diverse academic background, I have extensive computer experience. I also had
some exposure to import/export business through a job in a small U.S. company.

I have excellent communication and leadership skills. I successfully handle
responsibility and pressure, and have proven to be a valuable team member.
I am willing to commit myself for the whole summer, and perform a variety of
activities ranging from interpreting and public relations to computer
consulting.

My resume is available on the WWW at
http://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/~sasha/docs/resume.html. I am available for
an interview.

Please let me if you can refer me to any sources or people who would be able
to help me. Thank you,

My partner in Moscow and I have formed the company OK! Software. We have
published CD-ROMs for language learning which I think would be of
interest to visitors to Friends and Partners. A suggested listing is
below. Of course, feel free to edit. I think that the "Language Tutorial
Materials" page would be the most suitable location.

Software, Inc.(/b) (/A) has published the CD-ROMs Hello Russia and
Privyet Amerika for learning conversational Russian and English,
