Sender: Gregg Opelka (U22733@UICVM.BITNET)
Subject: Khabarovsk

I am interested in hearing any information on the Far Eastern Russian
city of Khabarovsk. Also, the surrounding area. If anyone has been there
or can afford me any information, please e-mail me at
U22733@uicvm.uic.edu. Spasebo, dryz'ya.

NOTE: A search of the CDC database (from the "Who's Who" page)
turned up about 17 folks in Khabarovsk (with email addresses)
who might be able to offer you additional information. If any
questions about how to conduct such searches, please let us know.

Subject: question.....

Hi Natasha! I have a question for you......

Do you know of any way to get e-mail to the Magadan region? My wife's family
lives in Omsuckchan, which is about 100km north of Magadan, and we having been
searching (rather in vain, unfortunately) to communicating with them without
the use of the postal service (very slow) or by phone (we have never been able
to get through in over 2 years of trying). I know Magadan has a university,
but outside of that I do not know a lot more. Thanks in advance for any
suggestions/ideas you might have!

)From: ROLIVER@tiny.computing.csbsju.edu (Richard)
Subject: Leningrad Library Fire

I wonder, Natasha, if your access to information sources could provide an
answer to a question. I was recently asked if a certain manuscript was
lost in the April? 1988 fire at the Leningrad (Academy of Science?) library.

The manuscript in question was the only copy there of

                Pseudo-Rufinus. "De fide."

   Thanks.

Subject: universities in th ex-ussr connected to Internet

I, too, would like to obtain a list of colleges and universities in the
ex-USSR which are connected to Internet and thus able to receive e-mail.

Thank you.

Sender: "James A. Janack" (jajanack@mailbox.syr.edu)
Subject: Zhirinovsky's rhetoric

I'm a graduate student interested in Russian rhetoric, especially that of
V. Zhirinovsky. I'll be spending 4 months in Moscow (Aug-Dec) and am
interested in any contacts (in Us or Russia) or suggestions on how to
access him and his party apparatus.
