The Alliance of Universities for Democracy is a private not-for-profit
corporation and is approved to receive tax-deductible gifts from American
citizens as a nonprofit educational organization under Codes 501(c)(3) and
170(c)(2) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
- To help individuals initiate, strengthen, and broaden multilateral
networks among the United States, Western Europe, and CEE by supporting
higher education reform in the international arena.
- To help CEE universities reconnect with their communities after 45 years
of authoritarian rule.
- To help educators understand and anticipate an increasingly unified
Europe.
- To help Western universities in the post-Cold War era contribute to
national redefinition and a global society.
- To stretch travel funds through participation in annual conferences
attended by representatives of more than 80 universities from the United
States and Europe.
