Designer: Thiokol. Application: Manned rocketplanes. Used on spacecraft: HL-10, M2-F2, M2-F3, X-1, X-15A, X-15A-2, X-1A, X-1B, X-1D, X-24A, X-24B. Propellants: Lox/Alcohol Mass Engine: 157 kg. Diameter: 0.5 m. Length: 1.5 m. Chambers: 4. Status: Out of Production. Comments: Rocket engine developed to break the sound barrier and used twenty years later to power experimental lifting bodies. Could not be throttled, but four combustion chambers could be run individually. 2700 kgf at sea level.
