I'm new to the list and would like to introduce myself. My name is Scott
Urbom and I am a graduate student at Harvard
University. I am currently doing research on NGOs in Uzbekistan and
Kazakhstan. I am hoping to conduct research this summer in the region, but
for now I'm working on a paper on NGO-state relations in these two
countries. I would be grateful if you could reply to any of these
questions:
Are NGOs collaborating with the local government on any projects?
What kind of support does the government provide NGOs?
Have NGOs encountered any difficulties in dealing with the government?
Do laws affecting NGOs make it difficult for NGOs to register and work?
Is there any cooperation between NGOs and mahallas?
