Subject: Journalist roundtable on Ferghana Valley

Hello dear list members,
Last week, a group of journalists from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan met at the
roundtable conducted by the Media Resource Center and Konrad Adenauer Fudn.
They discussed various topics ranging from law on media in Kyrgyzstan and
Uzbekistan and the government policies and economic situation in the region.
It was obvious that the exchange of ideas and experience was still slow.
Journalists agreed that the rountables or conferences where they can get
together will promote further integration.
Next meeting is scheduled in November in Andijan.
