Dear colleagues,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Erkinbek Kasybekov. I am country
director of Counterpart Consortium in Kyrgyz Republic, funded by USAID.
Counterpart supports NGO initiatives in Kyrgyzstan since beginning of 1995
by providing training and grants in purpose of local NGOs' capacity
building. Counterpart started collaboration with NGOs in Fergana Valley in
the summer 1995 by providing first workshops "NGO and Community" and
"Project Design and Proposal Writing" in Osh. Since that time we built up a
strong network with local NGOs. There are dozens and dozens Counterpart's
partners among local NGOs in Osh and Djalal-Abad oblasts and we still
provide training and other technical assistance to our partners. Counterpart
has a resource center in Djalal-Abad, which soon become a local NGO. My
particular interest is development of NGO community in Fergana Valley and
building a social partnership among local authorities, private businesses,
NGOs, and media in order to solve particular problems.
