Subject: body found in Osh

Hi fellow list members --
Does anyone know anything about the body (perhaps a mummy?) found under the
main street in Osh last summer? The city admin had torn up the street to fix
a broken pipe, and they found a body, said to be between 2000 and 3000?
years old. Because she was buried in a certain way, they claimed that it
confirmed the fact that Islam had been in the region for such a long time.
I saw the hole, and the spot she was pulled out of, but I haven't heard
anything since. The city admin decided to close up the hole as planned,
because further excavation would have caused chaos in city center.
