Dear Colleagues:

I am also a new member of this discussion list (FVDL). I write a few
words to tell you about myself and hope I could make some contribution to
fruitful discussion in FVDL. I am majoring social anthropology and am to
teach a few undergraduate classes as a part-time instructor at Rissho
University in Tokyo. I had done anthropological fieldwork in Kochkor
raion of Kyrgyzstan about two years, mainly in 1995-1997. My main focus
is the growing process of kin-networks in a Kyrgyz village through the
Soviet times and the changing of their social relationships in the period
of economic transition. Concretely, I have focused on the process of
dissolving a sovkhoz and founding independent farmers in the village. I
would appreciate it if anyone who have any information about the concrete
processes of dissolving sovkhozy and kolkhozy in Central Asia including
Ferghana Valley could give me some suggestion.

Sincerely,
YOSHIDA Setsuko
