Belarus Update

Belarus Update is a weekly compilation of news briefs about civil
society in Belarus. The update is published by the International
League for Human Rights in New York.

The most recent issue carried news that the Belarusian Human Rights
League and the Belarusian Human Rights Association have been denied
registration. Last week the Update reported that the Belarusian
Minister of Justice had warned newspapers not to publish any
information about NGOs which were not officially registered.

The Belarus Update, including archives, is available online at ILHR's
Web site: www.ilhr.org. To go directly to the Belarus section,
