The home page of the CCSI Web site now has links to two important
items:

1. A brief report on the recently concluded International Community
Schools Conference, held in Omsk in early October, written by Tatiana
Buinovskaya.

2. Excerpts from an article in the Newburyport (MA) Daily News, about
the problems Albert Decie, a grad of Newburyport High, is having with
the Russian authorities. They have seized his visa and denied him
permission to leave the country, pending the investigatoin of alleged
tax irregularities. Decie has been a major force in the community
schools movement and has worked closely with ECHO, based in
Novosibirsk.

Below is a letter to Decie, received from one of his former high
school teachers.

Dear Joe,

I am very concerned about your predicament in Siberia and as a result
will ask my students and many others to create an avalanche of
support from the Clipper City for the march of democracy-

ONWARD - FORWARD...

The above note is for Albert "Joe" Decie from his former 10th grade
teacher in World History. Please advise if I can help Joe Decie.
