JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
GRANT ANALYST
THE EURASIA FOUNDATION, MOSCOW

The Eurasia Foundation is a privately managed grantmaking organisation
established in 1993 with a major grant from the US Agency for International
Development. The Foundation fulfils a broad mandate to promote the
advancement of democratic institutions and private enterprise in twelve host
countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,
Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. The
Eurasia Foundation believes that societies function best when citizens take
responsibility for their own civic and economic future. Foundation programs
seek to promote the skills and vision necessary to bring the greatest social
and economic benefits to individuals and their societies.
The Moscow Office makes grants in Central Russia, Western Siberia and
Northwest Russia.

The Moscow Regional Office of the Eurasia Foundation is currently seeking a
Grant Analyst. The position is open to Russian nationals and will be filled
in November 2000.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ž Draft grants agreements.
ž Monitor active grants.
ž Review financial reports.
ž Review the financial activities of grantee organisations, including
conducting site visits.
ž Prepare financial documents and act as liaison between the Foundation and
banks.
ž Conduct seminars.
ž Provide other logistical support.
ž Assist in any additional duties that the Grants Manager delegates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ž University education in finance/economics, accounting or relevant
experience.
ž Excellent computer skills including database, spreadsheets, and word
processing is required.
ž Proficiency in English.
ž Knowledge of Russian tax, financial and labor laws.
ž Knowledge of Russian accounting standards.
ž Knowledge of USAID and OMB regulations is desirable.
ž Experience with USAID-supported or similar international assistance
projects is desirable.
ž Excellent time management, multi-tasking skills and strong organisational
skills.
ž Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
ž Ability to be a team player and a responsible, self-motivated worker.
